***CORRECTIONS have been made to the driver-passenger of the mini-van involved in the crash*** 

The drivers and passenger of the vehicles involved in this crash are identified as , Ronald Lindenmuth (57) of Phoenix, AZ, who was the driver of the mini-van, James Eyerly (63) of Harrisburg, who was the passenger in the mini-van, and a 17 year-old male from Harrisburg, who was the driver of the sedan.  Lindemuth was pronounced deceased at the scene, Eyerly was transported to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and the 17 year-old driver of the sedan was transported to the same hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

     Investigators with Derry Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or may have dashcam video footage that would assist in their investigation, to contact Officer Kenneth Sites at (717) 534-2202.

     On August 11, 2026, at approximately 8:53 a.m., the Derry Township Police Department responded to a head-on collision at the intersection of West Hersheypark Drive and North Hockersville Road. The crash involved a mini-van and a sedan, resulting in the death of the mini-van's driver at the scene.

A passenger in the mini-van was transported to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where they later succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the sedan was also taken to the same hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The Dauphin County Crash Reconstruction Team, in collaboration with Derry Township Police Department investigators, is currently investigating the incident. As part of the investigation, West Hersheypark Drive was closed from Park Boulevard to Old West Chocolate Avenue for several hours to allow for evidence collection. The roadway was reopened shortly before 2:00 p.m.

Preliminary findings suggest that the sedan was traveling east on West Hersheypark Drive, while the mini-van was traveling west. It is believed that the mini-van's driver turned left in front of the oncoming sedan, leading to the collision. The identities of the two deceased individuals will be released once next of kin have been notified.
