The Derry Township Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at approximately 11:25 am at the Tanger Outlets in Hershey.
A 2026 Tesla, driven by a Sharada Naganur from Princeton, NJ, was parked or was in the process of parking in a parking spot facing a grass median. The vehicle suddenly jumped the curb, making an immediate right turn, and traveled down the grass median towards the row of stores. The Tesla struck a small tree and three other parked cars before hitting a small sign and entering the travel lane in front of the row of stores. The vehicle was heading directly towards the Oakley Outlet Store front when the driver jerked the steering wheel to the left, causing the Tesla to make a sudden turn and crash into a support pillar in front of the Victoria's Secret Outlet Store.
The driver was the sole occupant of the Tesla, and there was one occupant in one of the parked cars that were struck. Fortunately, no injuries were reported to the police. The driver reported that the car was driving on its own, and she had no control over it until she turned left prior to the impact with the support pillar. The initial investigation at the scene provided evidence that Naganur was not under the influence of intoxicants and was legally able to operate the vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Derry Township Police Department is asking anyone with information about this crash, including video or photos of the crash or its aftermath, to contact Officer Todd Houser at (717) 534-2202 or submit a tip through the link on this Crimewatch post.
