On August 27, 2026, at approximately 8:45 p.m., the Derry Township Police Department was dispatched to a crash at the intersection of Laudermilch Road and North Lingle Avenue. The crash involved a 2015 Ford sedan, driven by Abrianna Farrell, 23, of Jonestown, PA, and a 2026 Freightliner tractor-trailer, driven by Francisco Martinez, 57, of Hazleton, PA. Farrell was transported to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 8:46 p.m., responding officers were notified of a second crash at the same location. A 24 year-old male bystander had exited a vehicle to assist the parties involved in the initial crash. While walking east across Laudermilch Road, the male was struck by a northbound 1994 Chevrolet coupe driven by Robert Rehman, 48, of Jonestown, PA. The male bystander was transported to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. He is still at the hospital in critical condition. His identity is not being released at this time until family members can be notified of his condition.
The Derry Township Traffic Safety Unit, in collaboration with the Dauphin County Crash Reconstruction Team, is actively investigating the incident.
Laudermilch Road was closed between East Hersheypark Drive and Bindnagle Road for several hours for evidence collection and was reopened shortly before 3:00 a.m.
