On 11-03-2018 at approximately 1530 a red sedan was stopped after being observed traveling 42 mph on South High St. The operator was identified as John Smith of Carlisle. As the Officer conversed with the operator, an odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. Additionally, the Officer could see flakes of a green leafy substance between the operators legs on the driver seat. A vehicle search was conducted which led to the discovery of drug and drug paraphernalia. Smith was taken into custody and transported to Cumberland County Prison for processing. Newville Police recently received lab results for these items.
