On 8/31/2021 the Newville Police department received a report of a sexual assault from a female resident (25). The victim reported she was assaulted multiple times since early August 2021. Newville Police investigated the alleged incidents pertaining to Ronald Lee Martin Jr. (58) of Newville, PA. On 9/20/2021 Martin was arrested and charged with one count each of Rape, Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Assault, and Indecent Assault. Martin was arraigned by MDJ Vivian Cohick and bail was set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing was held on 9/23/2021 and all charges were bound over to Cumberland County Common Pleas Court.
