On 06-12-2021 at approximately 2000, a silver Subaru was spotted on East Main St with an expired registration. Newville Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at 100 South High St. The operator was identified as Eric Anderson of Newville. Anderson had glassy/ watery eyes and had an obvious odor of alcohol emanating from his breath. Anderson claimed to have only ingested 2 beers when questioned. A Portable Breath Test (PBT) was administered and showed that Anderson had a BAC of 0.125. Anderson was put through the Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) battery. At the conclusion of the exercises, Anderson was placed in custody for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Anderson was transported to Carlisle Regional Medical Center for a blood draw. The Cumberland County Forensic Toxicology report was returned and showed positive findings. The report showed that Anderson had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.118 % within two hours of being taken into custody.
