In November of 2015, the Department became one of the first police departments in Chester County to promote the use of police facilities for members of the public to meet and conduct transactions with strangers.  For example, residents are encouraged to conduct transactions for online sales that were completed through websites such as Craigslist and EBay at the police department.  The police department has designated two parking spaces directly in front of the building as “Safe Trade” locations. These marked spaces are subject to twenty-four-hour video recording.  Additionally, the lobby of the police department, which is also under 24-hour video recording, will be open to persons wishing to conduct online transactions during regular business hours.
