We are saddened to share the passing of retired Kennett Square Police Officer, Donald E. Mayo.

Mr. Mayo, a lifelong member of the Kennett Square community, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, at the age of 89. He proudly served our country as a veteran of the United States Army and the Pennsylvania National Guard and dedicated 25 years to the Kennett Square Police Department before retiring in 1988.

Throughout his career, Officer Mayo served with commitment and professionalism, contributing to the safety and well-being of our community.  Donald held the ranks of Officer, Sergeant, and Lieutenant during his 25-year career with the Kennett Square Police Department.  Following his retirement, he continued to pursue his passion for landscaping and remained a valued member of the community he called home.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His service and legacy will not be forgotten.
