November 15, 2023, marks the 51st anniversary of the tragic loss in the Line of Duty of Police Officers William W. Davis and Richard J. Posey.  In the early morning hours of November 15, 1972, the Kennett Square Police Department lost two members of our Police family.   

The Kennett Square Police Department once again asks everyone to please take a moment of silence to remember the 51st anniversary since Patrolmen William W. Davis and Richard J. Posey were slain in the line of duty.  They gave their lives while serving the Borough of Kennett Square.  God bless them and their families for their sacrifice.    

Our annual memorial ceremony took place on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the grave site of each of our fallen officers.  Wreaths were placed at each location in addition to prayers shared for the officers and their families.
