Over the last few days, the Upper Southampton Police Department has investigated multiple vehicle thefts and theft from vehicle cases which occurred during the overnight hours. In each case, the owner left their vehicle unlocked with valuables clearly observable. In the vehicle theft cases, the owners left the ignition keys in the unlocked vehicle. We urge all residents to remove valuables from their vehicles when they park for the night, properly secure/lock their car, and never under any circumstances leave the keys inside. We also encourage residents to call 911 if they observe suspicious persons or vehicles in their neighborhood during the overnight hours.
