In 2023, distracted driving was the leading cause of crashes in Pennsylvania. 

Paul Miller was killed by a distracted driver, who was on his phone at the time of the accident. 

The accident occurred on July 5, 2010, when the tractor trailer driver crossed through a grass median and struck Miller's vehicle head on. 

As a result, Paul Miller's Law was enacted on June 5, 2024. This law is now active as of June 5, 2025.
