July 24, 2026
At approximately 11:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop on a commercial vehicle operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Summit Trace Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected signs of impairment. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
At approximately 4:45 pm, a Newtown Township resident responded to headquarters to report credit card fraud. The investigation was referred to the detective division and is ongoing.
At approximately 5:30 pm, police observed a juvenile on an electric dirt bike traveling at a high rate of speed on the sidewalk in the area of South Eagle Road and Durham Road. The officer spoke with the juvenile, contacted the parent, and cited the parent for permitting the illegal action.
July 25, 2026
At approximately 10:30 pm, police were dispatched to North Sycamore Street for a hit-and-run traffic accident. As a result of the investigation, the fleeing operator was identified and will be charged with driving under the suspicion of alcohol and for leaving the scene of an accident.
July 28, 2026
At approximately 1:30 pm, police were contacted in reference to a fraud that occurred at a bank in Newtown Township. The incident is under investigation.
At approximately 4:30 pm, a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report credit card fraud. The investigation was referred to the detective division and is ongoing.
