Drug Disposal

img_2190.jpg

The Newtown Township Police Department participates in the Drug Take Back program and has a secure collection unit in the lobby of the Police Department, which is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  If you are not able to make it during our normal business hours you can call the non emergency phone numbers 215-579-1000 / 215-328-8524 and special arrangements may be made to accommodate you.

This unit allows for the safe collection and disposal of unwanted prescription and over the counter medications. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this program to minimize prescription drug misuse and to safeguard the environment.

No liquids, inhalers, or needles please. We ask that all loose pills be dumped into a ziplock style bag before arriving at Headquarters, and that the amber pill containers be thrown in the trash.
