Newtown Township, PA - The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has introduced a new tool to help protect our communities from scams.
Scammers often rely on creating fear or urgency, hoping victims will act quickly before taking time to think, verify information, or reach out to someone they trust.
Attached to this post is a helpful document you can use to create a list of trusted contacts (friends, neighbors, parents, children, or grandchildren) anyone you can call if you think you may be dealing with a scam.
The document also includes space to record safe contact information for companies you regularly do business with, such as banks, credit card companies, or online retailers. Having verified phone numbers on hand can help you quickly confirm information if something doesn’t seem right.
Taking a moment to pause, verify, and reach out can make all the difference. Stay informed and stay safe.
