+NEW THIS YEAR
-For everyone’s safety, the entire Parade route will be lined (close to or at the curb), by the organizers, with YELLOW “POLICE LINE / DO NOT CROSS” tape. All spectators are asked to remain behind the tape. Several of the participants from previous years have identified “safety concerns” from people encroaching on the route (pinching it down) to the point it was difficult for the parade participants to get through safely. Spectators will have to remain up on the curb, not down on the paved portion of the route, for the event this year. Your cooperation with this new safety enhancement will be greatly appreciated by both the organizers and the borough.
-The throwing of Candy and any other items has been strictly prohibited by the organizers.
-There will be law enforcement officers in every block of the route this year. Please let an officer know if you see safety concerns or wish to report a problem. Of course, you are still able to and encouraged to dial 911 for emergencies.
