On January 30, 2023, at 10:22am, Saugerties Police responded to a 911 call reporting a tractor trailer rollover on Route 32, in the area of Fawn Road in the Town of Saugerties. Investigation established that 44-year-old Christopher W. Cazares, of  140 Gallis Hill Rd. Kingston, was operating a 2014, International Freightliner pulling a 28 foot trailer, south on Fawn Road in the Town of Saugerties, when Cazares lost control of the Freightliner as he was approaching a curve in the roadway. The Freightliner crossed the highway, striking a tree and then overturning , coming to rest on its side in the middle of the highway.  Cazares, sustained head, and neck injuries during the crash, and was treated at the scene by Paramedics from DIAZ Ambulance, and then transported to the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital  for further treatment. Saugerties Police were also assisted at the scene by members from the Saxon-Ashbury Fire Department, New York State Police and Steyer’s Hudson Valley Auto.
