Earlier today, the NYS Law Enforcement Accreditation Council met in Albany, NY and voted to approve the reaccreditation of the Saugerties Police Department. The approval was based upon the recommendation from a NYS Accreditation Assessor who conducted a compliance audit of the department back in September of this year.
Being a NYS Accredited Agency means that we have demonstrated to an assessor that we meet the Council’s standards in administration, training, and operations. The Saugerties Police Department first became accredited in 2013 and has met the NYS Law Enforcement Accreditation Council’s standards ever since.
We would also like to take the time to thank Sergeant Derek Fallon for his hard work, dedication, and sacrifice, keeping the Saugerties Police Department an accredited agency. For the past 10 years, Sergeant Fallon has worked diligently as our Accreditation Manager. His hard work was recognized today as he was awarded the John Kimball O’Neil Certification of Achievement from the NYS Law Enforcement Agency Accreditation Council. Thank you Sergeant Fallon.
