On July 6th, 2025 at about 9:00AM the Saugerties Police Department arrested a David W. Tallman Jr., of Monroe County, New York, after a handgun was turn into the clerk at the Big Belly Deli in Saugerties. Resulting from that complaint and the ensuing investigation, investigators found that Tallman had possession of the firearm and discharged it in the parking lot before leaving it with the clerk and fleeing the scene. Tallman was located by responding officers and charged with the felonies of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree and Falsifying a Business Record, as well as the misdemeanors of Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree. Tallman was processed at the Saugerties Police Department and transported to CAP Court in Kingston where he was being held pending arraignment.
