On May 27, 2025 at about 11:30 AM the Saugerties Police Department arrested Kiersten R. Heitzman, age 28, of Millsboro, Delaware, following a motor vehicle accident. Resulting from the investigation into the accident, Heitzman was arrested and charged with the two (2) counts of felony Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a child in the vehicle (Leandra’s Law) as well as Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated a misdemeanor.  Heitzman was processed at the Saugerties Police Department released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court at a later date.
