Chief Dominick L. Blasko has dedicated his career to serving and protecting the community. With over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, he has risen through the ranks to become the 4th Chief of Police in the Town of Crawford.
Chief Blasko's journey began in 1990 as a dispatcher with the Village of Walden Police. He then attended the police academy and became a police officer with the Town of Lloyd in Ulster County in 1992. He worked part-time in Lloyd and full-time as a dispatcher in the Town of New Windsor before joining the Crawford Police Department in 1993.
Throughout his career, Chief Blasko has served in various roles, including DARE Officer and School Resource Officer for the Pine Bush Central School District. He has also been an active member of several law enforcement organizations, including the New York State DARE Officer's Association, which he previously served as President.
In addition to his police duties, Chief Blasko has coached several scholastic and youth sports teams and has served on the executive boards of the Wallkill Youth Football League and the Orange County Youth Football League.
Chief Blasko holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management from Manhattan University and has graduated from the New York State Law Enforcement Executive Institute, F.B.I Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development, and the 238th session of the F.B.I National Academy. He is a certified New York State General Topics Master Police Instructor and an instructor for the Police Chief's Association of Orange County Police Academy.
Currently, Chief Blasko serves as the President of the Police Chiefs' of Orange County, 1st Vice President of the Mid-Hudson Chiefs Association, and a member of the Board of Governors for the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police. He was appointed by Governor Kathy Hochul to the New York State Municipal Police Training Council in 2025.
Under Chief Blasko's leadership, the Crawford Police Department became a New York State accredited agency and consists of 28 full and part-time sworn police officers and 14 full and part-time civilian support staff. He is committed to serving the community with professionalism, integrity, and dedication.
