The Dunbarton Police Department announces the arrest of Joseph Crawford, 32, Dunbarton, following a lengthy investigation.
On Tuesday, July 4th 2023 Dunbarton Police Sergeant Brian Tyler attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a GMC pickup truck in the area of Morse Road and Twist Hill Road for several traffic violations. The operator failed to stop and led Sergeant Tyler on a brief pursuit on Twist Hill Road towards Goffstown. Sergeant Tyler quickly discontinued the pursuit out of concern for the general public and due to the reckless and dangerous operation of the suspect vehicle.
Following the pursuit, the Dunbarton Police Department began an investigation and subsequently identified the operator as Joseph Crawford, 32, of Dunbarton.
Crawford was processed on a Dunbarton Police Department arrest warrant at the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord on Wednesday, August 9th 2023, where he was being held on an unrelated parole violation due to engaging in another pursuit in New Hampshire on July 22nd, 2023.
Crawford will be arraigned in Merrimack County Superior Court later today on the following charges:
Reckless Conduct – Deadly Weapon (Felony)
Habitual Offenders; Penalty (Felony)
Falsifying Physical Evidence (Felony)
Driving Without Giving Proof (Misdemeanor)
Disobeying a Police Officer (Misdemeanor)
Operating After Revocation/Suspension – DWI Conviction (Misdemeanor)
Reckless Driving (Violation)
Highway Markings (2) (Violation)
