As the weather warms up in Summit, we want to remind our residents to stay vigilant against scammers who may try to take advantage of you. This time of year, we often see an increase in ruse burglaries, home improvement scams, and car repair scams.
These scams often involve individuals going door-to-door or approaching you in business parking lots or near your vehicle. Be cautious of any deal that seems too good to be true, as it likely is!
If an unknown person comes to your door, do not open it. Instead, call the police immediately so we can verify their identity and ensure your safety.
At the Summit Police Department, our top priority is keeping you and your community safe from financial crimes and crimes against persons. We're here to serve and protect you!
Stay safe, and remember: if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Trust your instincts and report any suspicious activity to us.
