The men and women of the Summit Police Department would like to extend our sympathies to our brothers and sisters of the Chicago Police Department. It is with great respect and sorrow that we stand with the officers of the Chicago Police Department particularly the men and women of the 8th District who are our neighbors to the east. The loss of a fellow officer in the line of duty is devastating to his partners, colleagues, department and to the community they serve; Even more so to the family of the fallen officer. To the officer's family we extend our most heartfelt condolences as we recognize the sacrifice that their loved ones must endure. The love and respect of our Blue family extends beyond borders and jurisdictions and we pray for the fallen officer and his family.
