The Summit Police Department would like to acknowledge one of our many partners in law enforcement. The BNSF Railway Police Department gave us the pleasure of their company at our National Night Out event on August 1, 2023. They were on hand to meet our residents and answer any questions that they may have regarding their department and their relationship with our community. BNSF Deputy Chief, Justin Douglas, was kind enough to take questions from our village trustees and community members about their drones and their program in deploying them in the field. A longtime friend and retired Summit Lieutenant who is now a BNSF officer, John Bragassi, put on a short demonstration of the abilities of a drone for law enforcement purposes as he is a licensed drone operator for the BNSF Police.
