The Summit Police Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Fire Chief Anthony Anderson and the Summit Fire Department for inviting us to their annual 9-11 ceremony. This year's event marked the 25th anniversary of the tragic events of 2001, and it was a privilege to be a part of this solemn occasion.

The beautiful day provided a fitting backdrop for the ceremony, which was attended by elected officials and first responders from Summit and surrounding areas. Mayor Rodriguez of Summit welcomed all in attendance and reflected on the significance of September 11, 2001, in a poignant address.

We were also honored to have students from District 104 in attendance, who kicked off the ceremony with a stirring rendition of the national anthem. Their participation added a touching element to the proceedings.

We are grateful for the opportunity to come together with our community and first responder partners to remember and honor the lives lost on 9-11. We will never forget.
