On Saturday, January 20, 2024, officers responded to a burglar alarm at the Steak and Egger restaurant located in the 5600 block of S. Archer Rd. Upon arrival officers discovered that forced entry was made through the front door of the business. Officers then learned that an ATM located in the entrance had been taken by the unknown offenders. It appears upon initial investigation that a vehicle drives up to the location and two masked men approach the business. They make forced entry and subsequently take the ATM by putting it into their vehicle and fleeing the scene. Detectives are currently working along with other jurisdictions in regard to these offenders who appear to have committed similar offenses in other municipalities. At this time, this is an ongoing investigation.
