On Monday, November 27 Officer Karla Ross was invited to help local Boy Scouts get their Emergency Preparedness Badge.  She met with the elementary school boys from local schools and discussed safety, manners, the Cortez Police Crimewatch website, and even read them their Miranda Rights.  School resource officer Ross described what an SRO does and her role as a real-life police officer. 

The boys presented her with an unexpected gift of a water bottle as a thank-you for helping them.
