The Cortez Police Department is thrilled to announce our first annual awards ceremony! This special event will honor the bravery and dedication of our officers, celebrating life-saving actions, acts of valor, meritorious conduct awards, and the Chief's Certificate of Commendation.
This awards ceremony has been a long-time goal of Chief Vernon Knuckles. In his absence due to his National Guard deployment, acting Chief Andy Brock will preside over the honors. The awards celebrate the extraordinary efforts of the Cortez Police Department officers and dispatchers during the challenging and dangerous events of 2023 and 2024.
