Trinidad Police Department would like to thank all of the plungers and donors that made the Special Olympics 2023 Polar Plunge an amazing success. This year’s event raised over $5000. We would like to recognize Community Service Officer Richard Gonzales for being the top earner, raising $582.00, just barely beating out Detective Sergeant Jennifer Lay who raised $577.00 and Cassie Hosseinzadeh who raised $564.00.
A special thank you to Fisher’s Peak Fire Department and Stonewall Fire Department for sending dive teams to cut the ice and ensure the plungers' safety. Thank you to the Trinidad Police Department Explorer's Post 1876 for helping set up the event, to Rally Point Rentals for proving heaters and to Way Out West Coffee for coming out and donating coffee for all participates and spectators.
