Trinidad Police Officers responded to a call at 921 Stonewall for a stabbing Sunday evening just before 9 pm. The caller, later identified as Dallas Abbott, 21, of Trinidad, told dispatch that two people had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers found two male parties, aged 52 and 73, with stab wounds. Officers performed first aid until Trinidad Ambulance personnel arrived on scene.  Both stabbing victims and a family member were transported to Mt. San Rafael Hospital.

The 52-year-old male was subsequently flown to Memorial Hospital via Flight for Life and the 73-year-old male was pronounced deceased.

Dallas Abbott was taken into custody and transported to the Las Animas County Detention Center. He is being held on a no bond hold and is charged with 1 count of murder in the 1^st degree and 1 count of criminal attempt at murder in the 1^st degree.
