Mejia was contacted by officers after the dispatch center received a call that a dark colored vehicle hit almost another vehicle which was parked on the 500 block of S. Beech St. Officers identified the driver as the one driving erratically earlier in the evening. The passenger, a 15-year-old female, was released. The driver of the vehicle, Mejia, was charged with Reckless Driving, Driving without a Valid License, Reckless Endangerment and Child Abuse.
