Derrera was contacted during a traffic stop CSP had initiated and TPD arrived on scene for cover.  After K9 Jefe conducted a free air sniff, he alerted to the odor of narcotics. After a search of the vehicle illegal narcotics were located and Derrera was placed into custody. Derrera was charged with Controlled Substance Special Offender, Unlawful distribution/manufacturing/dispensing sale or possession of controlled substance schedule I or II-Conspiracy- 14 gm to 225 gm, Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender, and four counts of Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance.
