Sunday, February 3, 2019, an Officer was dispatched for a report of a car that had driven into the yard of 325 South Broad Street.  The Officer approached the Green Ford Taurus and a male identifying himself as Martin Zavala-Guerrero exited the driver’s side of the vehicle.  While speaking with Zavala-Guerrero, the Officer detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and observed slurred speech and glassy eyes.  The Officer asked Zavala-Guerrero to take Standardized Field Sobriety Tests for him, which he agreed.  Martin Zavala-Guerrero was taken into custody for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or a Controlled Substance and then requested to submit to a chemical test of his breath.  The chemical test resulted in a reading of .214% Blood Alcohol Concentration.  Zavala-Guerrero was transported for processing and released at his residence. Charges of DUI and related offenses were then filed against Martin Zavala-Guerrero by summons at District Court 15-03-04.
