On 8/8/2017 at 1302 hours, officers responded to the Giant Food Store at 466 Second Street Pike for a retail theft that had just occurred and the actor fled the store without paying for over $250.00 worth of merchandise. The actor was described as a black male wearing jeans, a blue/green short sleeve shirt, a black and red baseball cap and a small red backpack.
Officers searched the area and found a subject matching that description standing at the Septa bus stop located in front of the Hampton Square Shopping Center. Officers made contact with the subject, identified as Robert Anthony Beckles, and he had several bags of food with him which contained merchandise from the Giant which were identical to what was reported as stolen. Beckles was taken into custody and transported to USPD headquarters. Beckles was found to have active arrest warrants from Bucks County as well as the City of Philadelphia, both for shoplifting.
Beckles was processed and turned over to the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department where they transported him to the Bucks County Correctional facility.
