The Shippensburg Police Department would like to remind the community that throwing candy or any objects from vehicles is prohibited. This practice can pose a significant safety risk to pedestrians, especially children, and can also cause damage to property.

We understand that the intention behind throwing candy may be to bring joy and excitement, but it is essential to prioritize safety above all. Instead, we encourage you to explore alternative ways to celebrate and engage with the community, such as participating in organized events or distributing treats in a safe and controlled environment.  Please feel free to have people distribute the candies alongside vehicles or floats.
