LANSDALE BOROUGH – Beginning early next week, the speed limit on West Main Street between Valley Forge Road and Cannon Avenue will be reduced from 35 mph to 25 mph. The change follows approval by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).
New speed limit signs will be installed early next week. Once the signs are in place, the new 25 mph speed limit will officially take effect, and motorists are required to obey the updated posted speed limit.
The reduced speed limit is intended to improve safety for everyone who uses the roadway, including motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists. It also better reflects the surrounding residential and commercial character of the corridor.
The Lansdale Borough Police Department reminds drivers to watch for the new signs, slow down, and adjust their speed accordingly. Lower speeds provide more time to react to unexpected hazards and help reduce the severity of crashes.
We appreciate the public's cooperation as this change is implemented and thank everyone for helping keep Lansdale's roadways safe.
