Fourth of July driving safety

Brighton Police Department is launching a high-visibility initiative to combat drunk and drugged driving during the Independence Day celebrations. As part of this effort, there will be a surge in patrols and sobriety checkpoints across the state to discourage impaired driving. Throughout the holiday week, officers will be conducting roving patrols and setting up DWI checkpoints to ensure road safety. Motorists are urged to drive responsibly and plan for a safe ride home if they have been drinking.
