Starting Patrol Officer Salary

$76,341

Top Patrol Officer Base Salary

$127,236

Current salary figures.  Compensation and benefits are subject to future Collective Bargaining Agreements and may be updated accordingly.

    (Additional $1.60/hour for hours worked between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM)
  • Longevity Pay

Longevity Pay

  • 5 Years of Service — 3%
  • 10 Years of Service — 5%
  • 15 Years of Service — 7%
  • 20 Years of Service — 9%
  • 21+ Years of Service — Additional 1% increase per year

Education & Career Development

LPD supports continued education and professional growth through annual educational incentive pay:

Associate Degree $400
Bachelor's Degree $700
Master's Degree $1,000

Additional educational opportunities include tuition reimbursement for approved coursework.

 

Retirement & Pension

A career with the Lansdale Borough Police Department provides long-term financial security through an excellent pension program.

Pension Highlights

  • Retirement eligibility after 25 years of service and age 50
  • Officers become vested after 12 years of service
  • Retirement benefit equals 50% of the average salary from the final three years of service
  • DROP (Deferred Retirement Option Plan) available for up to four years
  • Post-retirement medical coverage available
    (Retirees contribute 25% of the monthly premium cost)

Officers contribute between 1% and 5% of salary toward the pension plan in accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
