Pension Highlights
- Retirement eligibility after 25 years of service and age 50
- Officers become vested after 12 years of service
- Retirement benefit equals 50% of the average salary from the final three years of service
- DROP (Deferred Retirement Option Plan) available for up to four years
- Post-retirement medical coverage available
(Retirees contribute 25% of the monthly premium cost)
Officers contribute between 1% and 5% of salary toward the pension plan in accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
