WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS?

The Lansdale Borough Police Department is seeking motivated, service-oriented individuals who are committed to professionalism, integrity, and serving the community.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be a United States citizen
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Be a high school graduate or possess a GED
  • Successfully meet established physical fitness standards

In addition to the minimum qualifications listed above, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

Education

Completion of at least 60 college semester credits from an accredited college or university.

Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) credits may be applied toward this requirement.

Military Service

Completion of at least two years of active-duty military service with an honorable discharge, or be eligible for an honorable discharge if currently serving.

Law Enforcement Experience

Possess at least two years of experience as a certified law enforcement officer, including a minimum of 1,000 hours of on-the-job experience.

Get Paid While You Train

You do not need to be a certified police officer to apply.

The Lansdale Borough Police Department will sponsor qualified candidates through the police academy and provide a salary while they complete their training.

That means you can begin your law enforcement career without already possessing ACT 120 certification. If selected, we will invest in your success by providing the training, mentorship, and support necessary to become a police officer.

We're looking for individuals with strong character, sound judgment, and a genuine desire to serve others. If that sounds like you, we encourage you to apply.

Build Your Future With LPD

Whether you're a college student preparing for a career in public service, a military veteran seeking your next challenge, an experienced officer looking for a new opportunity, or someone ready to make a difference in their community, LPD offers a rewarding and meaningful career path.

Join a department built on professionalism, teamwork, and service—working in a community that values and supports the work we do every day.
