On May 22, 2026, at approximately 1:34 pm, the Derry Township Police Department received multiple calls regarding a road rage incident in the area of Cocoa Avenue and Governor Road. According to witnesses, a driver exited his vehicle and ripped the mirror off another vehicle stopped at the red light. The suspect, described as a middle-aged white male, medium to heavy build, with a "ginger" beard and baseball style hat, wearing dark jeans, work boots, and a high-viz construction-style orange shirt, then got back into his car and fled the scene eastbound on Governor Road.
The victim reported that the suspect's vehicle, a black Chevrolet sedan, had been following him from outside Derry Township, and the driver became aggressive after the victim sped up to get ahead of him at a merge point. The suspect approached the victim's vehicle while stopped at the red light at the intersection of Cocoa Avenue and Governor Road and began punching the front driver's side window, demanding that the victim exit the vehicle. When the victim refused, the suspect smashed the driver's side mirror.
Officers responded and met with the victim, who was shaken but uninjured. The suspect's vehicle was last seen heading eastbound on Governor Road.
