The Manheim Township Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Lieutenant Brian Freysz to the position of Chief of Police, effective November 10, 2025. This well-deserved recognition is a testament to Chief Freysz's unwavering commitment to public service and his dedication to the Manheim Township community.
Chief Freysz's journey began in 1977 when he moved to Manheim Township at the age of seven. He quickly became involved in the community, serving as a volunteer firefighter with the Neffsville Volunteer Fire Company in 1986. He worked his way up the ranks, eventually becoming the Deputy Fire Chief before stepping down in 2017.
After graduating from Manheim Township High School in 1988, Chief Freysz served his country for six years as an Aviation Electronics Technician in the United States Navy. Upon his return to Manheim Township, he joined the police department in September 2000.
Throughout his tenure at the police department, Chief Freysz has served in every position, from uniformed officer to undercover detective with the Lancaster County Drug Task Force. He was promoted to Sergeant in November 2017 and to Lieutenant in July 2020. Tonight, he takes on the highest rank within the department, Chief of Police.
Chief Freysz has consistently demonstrated his commitment to public service, and we are confident that he will continue to provide the highest level of professionalism and service to the Manheim Township community. We are honored to have him lead our agency.
He was sworn in at last night's Manheim Township Board of Commissioners meeting.
