For the past few years we’ve been rotating service flags to honor our military branches during their birthday month. In June, we flew the Army flag. In August, the puddle pirates. In September, the Chair Force got their turn.
And now in October? The U.S. Navy takes center stage for their 250th birthday on October 13th.
Now, before the Army comes storming in with bayonets because we didn’t make a big post for their 250th in June, relax! The guy who does these posts is a Navy vet. So… Hooyah!
If you drive by the station and see the Navy flag flying, no, we haven’t been commandeered. We’re just giving credit where credit is due, two and a half centuries of sailors making sure America’s enemies learn to swim.
Happy Birthday, U.S. Navy! Fair winds and following seas to those still standing the watch and cheers to 250 years of honor, courage, and commitment.
