On September 22, 2025, at approximately 13:40 hours, Ulster County 911 received a call from a female reporting a potential threat to Cahill Elementary School. The caller claimed that her ex-boyfriend was planning to go to the school to harm her children.

Law enforcement officers were immediately dispatched to respond to the situation. Saugerties Police officers recognized the caller, who was not in Saugerties at the time of the call, as an individual they had been working with since the early morning hours to provide mental health treatment.

Responding officers quickly verified that there was no active threat to the school and located the caller. After conducting an interview, the female was transported for a mental health evaluation.
