Strangulation, Endangering Welfare of Children, Harassment Arrest, June 28, 2025, 2000 block of Sutton Pl (MT) – Jose Luis Torres, Jr., M/23, of Lancaster, PA, was charged with the above offenses following a response to a disturbance. The victim said that Torres had woken them up angrily after coming home from drinking with his friends. The victim and Torres are no longer in a relationship. The victim said that Torres struck them multiple times in the head, with a closed fist, and had bruising in the center of the forehead. The victim was also strangled by Torres for a brief period and displayed bruising on both sides of the neck and complained of pressure in the chest. During this altercation, the victim was holding a child as Torres was striking them. Torres attempted to take the child out of the victim’s arms and away from the residence. Torres stated that he “gave a quick squeeze” to the victim’s neck.

A criminal complaint was filed on June 28, 2025.  Jose Luis Torres, Jr, was arraigned and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.
