In the early morning hours of November 15, 1972, the Kennett Square Police Department lost two members of our family.
The Kennett Square Police Department once again asks everyone to please take a moment of silence to remember the 52nd anniversary since Patrolmen William W. Davis and Richard J. Posey were slain in the line of duty. They gave their lives while serving the Borough of Kennett Square. God bless them and their families for their sacrifice.
This year, we would also like to remember Mavis Posey, the matriarch of the Posey family, who passed away on April 10, 2024.
“Another year has passed, but we will never forget. We will continue to remember and honor these officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
Chief William T. Holdsworth
