7/21/24 at 4:53 PM, Officers were dispatched to an animal complaint in the area of Juniper Street and S. Walnut Street. (KS-24-006450). The reporting party stated they were concerned about a dog that had been outside for hours. Contact was made with the owner and the dog, who was not barking and appeared healthy and not in distress.

7/22/24 at 12:34 AM, Officers conducted a patrol check at the KAU fields and observed a bike on the side of the port-a-potty. (KS-24-006460). Officers made contact with a male subject on the bleachers who showed indicators suggesting intoxication. One Non-Traffic Citation for public drunkenness was issued.

7/22/24 at 12:00 PM, Officers were dispatched for a scam report in the 600 Block of E. Cope Road. (KS-24-006481). Officers advised that government agencies do not ask for money or gift cards and would not be sending texts to their cellphones.

7/22/24 at 9:58 PM, Officers were dispatched for a disturbance in the 200 Block of E. State Street. (KS-24-006493). The reporting party advised they were moving their vehicle and heard a male yelling. After speaking with the described male, he advised he was only attempting to help the reporting party back up his vehicle.

7/23/24 at 1:41 AM, Officers were dispatched to the 600 Block of W. Cypress Street for a tree down in the roadway. (KS-24-006499). Upon arrival, it was observed to be a hit-and-run accident with the tree in the median. Pending further investigation.

7/23/24 at 9:25 PM, Officers were dispatched to assist Kennett Township Police Department with a traffic stop in the 600 Block of Millers Hill. (KS-24-006532).

7/24/24 at 2:27 AM, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 400 Block of E. State Street. (KS-24-006534). Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, a distinct odor of unburnt marijuana was detected emanating from inside the vehicle. Subsequently, a Non-Traffic Citation for Disorderly Conduct was issued along with other Traffic Citations.

7/24/24 at 10:35 AM, Officers were dispatched for a well-being check of a white male on foot yelling in the area of W. Cedar Street and Center Street. (KS-24-006540). Officers contacted the subject who did not appear to be under the influence of any substance and advised he was having a bad week, but all was okay.

On 7/25/24 at 12:22 AM, while on patrol Officers observed a group of juveniles walking in the area of the 100 Block of S. Willow Street. (KS-24-006555). Officers made contact with the group of juveniles and advised them of the curfew in the Borough. Officers conducted a safety pat down on all subjects before they entered the patrol vehicle to be transported to their residence. One subject was in possession of marijuana and was issued a Non-Traffic Citation for Disorderly Conduct.

7/26/24 at 7:02 AM, Officers were dispatched in reference to a lost dog that occurred in October of 2023. (KS-24-006598). The reporting party advised they recently received a phone call stating their dog was seen at 11 Meredith Street. Officers advised there is no such address in the Borough. Officers advised that the reporting party could check Meredith Street for the lost dog but could not trespass on properties.

7/26/24 at 7:57 PM, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 Block of S. Union Street on a vehicle with aftermarket window tint, who was traveling 15 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. (KS-24-006617). After making contact with the operator of the vehicle, it was advised they did not have a valid driver's license or proof of insurance for the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the location.

7/26/24 at 9:18 PM, Officers were dispatched to the 800 Block of S. Walnut Street for a domestic disturbance. (KS-24-006619). Officers advised one of the involved subjects to file for an emergency PFA to avoid further issues.

7/27/24 at 9:33 AM, Officers were dispatched for a tortoise in the roadway in the 400 Block of Birch Street. (KS-24-006631). Officers were familiar with the owner of the tortoise and were able to return it to its residence inside a gate.

7/27/24 at 10:13 AM, Officers received a report of a verbal domestic in the 500 Block of Center Street. (KS-24-006634). After further investigation, one subject was taken into custody for Simple Assault and Harassment.

7/27/24 at 11:36 PM, Officers were dispatched for a lost iPhone. The reporting party advised the last time the phone was pinged it was in Wilmington, DE. (KS-24-006650). Due to the location of the phone, the reporting party was advised they would need to make contact with the New Castle Police Department.
