2/11/24 at 2:45PM, while conducting a speed detail in the area of 400 E. State Street, Officers observed a vehicle traveling at an average speed of 48.091 MPH in a 25MPH zone. (KS-24-001283). A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver identified himself using an Interlock License. Due to the absence of an interlock in the vehicle, the operator was taken into custody.
2/11/24 at 11:55PM, while conducting a routine patrol check of Anson B. Nixon Park, Officers observed an occupied white pickup truck. (KS-24-001289). Officers advised the occupants they couldn’t be in the park after dark, and they left without incident.
2/12/24 at 12:27PM, Officers were dispatched for a possible stolen vehicle. (KS-24-001307). After further investigation, it appeared the reporting party’s friend had moved the vehicle from its original location.
2/13/24 at 12:34PM, Officers were dispatched for a report of damage to a vehicle discovered in the 400 Block of S. Union Street. (KS-24-001329). It is expected that the striking vehicle was traveling northbound on S. Union Street, struck the parked vehicle, and fled the scene.
2/13/23 at 1:15PM, Officers were dispatched for a fire alarm at the Santander Bank in the 300 Block of W. Cypress Street. (KS-24-001330). Officers made contact with a worker who advised he was grinding within the bank and activated the alarm, but there was no emergency.
2/14/24 at 7:53AM, Officers were dispatched to check the well-being of a three-year-old walking by themselves in the 700 Block of S. Washington Street. (KS-24-001354). When Officers arrived, the child’s siblings were on location and stated he followed them out of the house when they went for a run.
2/14/24 at 2:14PM, Officers received a CY47 Child Abuse referral form in reference to a juvenile being touched inappropriately. (KS-24-001393). Pending further investigation.
2/15/24 at 5:42PM, Officers were dispatched to the 600 Block of W. State Street for a report. (KS-24-001403). After speaking with both subjects in the disturbance, it was advised they did not want charges filed in reference to their domestic.
2/15/24 at 9:45PM, while traveling eastbound in the 500 Block of E. Cypress Street, a 1995 Toyota passed Officers in the left lane. (KS-24-001411). Officers immediately detected the odor of marijuana and began following the vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted, and a small amount of marijuana was located inside the vehicle. While interacting with the operator, Officers did not detect any signs of impairment, and he appeared alert and articulate while speaking. The operator of the vehicle was issued a Non-Traffic Citation for Disorderly Conduct.
2/15/24 at 12:51AM, Officers were dispatched to the 500 Block of D Street for a suspicious condition, an unknown subject standing out front of the reporting party’s residence. (KS-24-001375). The reporting party advised two males approached the residence and attempted to open the door, but their dog began barking, so they fled the scene. Officers searched the area for the two vehicles that were described to be in front of the residence with negative results.
2/16/24 at 10:35AM, Officers were dispatched for a trailer parked on the street in the 100 Block of Magnolia Street. (KS-24-001423). Officers made contact with the owner of the trailer and advised of the Borough Ordinance restricting trailers from being parked on the street.
2/16/24 at 5:41PM, Officers were dispatched for a phone assignment. (KS-24-001438). Contact was made with the reporting party, who advised at 5:30PM, while inside a business in the 500 Block of W. Cypress Street, a red soft drink had been through on the hood of her automobile, and she wanted to file charges. Pending further investigation.
2/16/24 at 6:12PM, Officers were dispatched for a verbal dispute between two male subjects in the 200 Block of S. Willow Street. (KS-24-001439). After speaking with both subjects involved, they began to realize the reason for their argument was nonsense, and they calmed down.
2/17/24 at 9:17AM, Officers were dispatched to the 700 Block of Meredith Street for a theft report involving a stolen shovel. (KS-24-001451). Video footage was observed of a male subject running from the driveway carrying said shovel and getting into a vehicle. No obvious unique details could be observed in the footage provided. This video only captures a brief moment before and after the motion activation.
2/17/24 at 7:12PM, Officers were dispatched to the intersection of S. Union Street and W. South Street for a report of a two-vehicle crash with unknown injuries. (KS-24-001468). Upon arrival, the operator of unit 2 advised the operator of Unit 1 had fled the scene on foot, and he was believed to be intoxicated. Subsequently, the operator of unit 1 was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.

2/16/24 at 4:16PM, a Non-Reportable Accident occurred on W. Cypress Street. (KS-24-001435).
