The Fairview Township Police Department arrested 26-year old Brittany Rose Simpson of Highland Drive, Mechanicsburg after police were notified by York Hospital of an incident on 10/31/2020 where they treated Brittany's 4-year old son for ligature marks and bruising on his neck.  Police responded to the Simpson residence and spoke to Brittany. The young child allegedly placed a jump rope around another child's neck.  In return Brittany disciplined her son by placed the jump rope around his neck and tightening it to the point she caused ligature marks and bruising.   She admitted to slapping her son's face and placing a jump rope around his neck and "slightly squeezing it."

Simpson appeared for her preliminary hearing and charges were held for county court.
