On August 10th, 2019 at approximately 1935hrs Newville Police observed a black Mazda CX7 parked in the middle of Rose Alley. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver was identified as Charles Ditzler of Newville. Officers witnessed an open container in the center console. Ditzler had an odor of an alcohol emanating from his breath and glassy eyes. Ditzler was put through Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST). At the conclusion of the SFST, Ditzler was taken into custody for driving under the influence. The toxicology report was received and shows that Ditzler's blood contained a blood alcohol concentration of 0.299%.
