On July 17, 2026, at approximately 3:28 a.m., officers with the Lancaster Township Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Elm Avenue for the report of a male attempting to break into vehicles.
Officers located a suspect in the area, later identified as Malik Taylor. During the investigation, officers determined that Taylor had an active felony burglary warrant out of the Fairview Township Police Department in York County and an active misdemeanor defiant trespass warrant out of the Steelton Borough Police Department in Dauphin County.
Taylor was taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, officers recovered stolen debit cards that had been taken from a nearby vehicle. Taylor was also wearing all black clothing and a full face covering to conceal his identity. Additionally, he was carrying a flashlight, which he was using to identify potential vehicles to target for theft.

Bail was set at $150,000 straight cash. A preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
